Carrera: April Fools in September?!

CICLISMO magazine is reporting that that Carrera will be announcing the availability of a hidden motor equipped Carrera "Phibra" at Friedrikcshafen.

The bike is said to be equipped with the motor in the seat tube, and powered by a battery in a false water bottle. A rider would have a choice of selecting 200 watts for 45-50 mintes or 300 watts for 15 minutes.

Perhaps Carrera is having some fun based on the previous stories that have emerged about motorized bikes (see The Doped Bicycle). Let's hope so! I certainly don't need riding partners with motors in their bikes.

Stories for the Italian Cycling Journal about rides, granfondos, having a good time cycling in Italy, Italian cycling history, etc. are very welcome. Contact me at veronaman@gmail.com.
