The "Gran Fondo Guide"

The Gran Fondo Guide-Cycling Italian Style continues to expand with event schedules, event results, and gran fondo stories from around the world.

Where to find it:
web
twitter
facebook

A word about gran fondos in general: In Italy these are competitive, timed, events with some level of course management (ranging from full road closures to blocking vehicles at intersections). You should be aware that there has been a lot of drift in the meaning and use of "gran fondo" outside of Italy. The gran fondo you ride might not resemble the Italian experience.

The organizers of the Campagnolo Gran Fondo New York in "What is a Gran Fondo?" write about it.

Follow on Twitter: ITALIANCYCJOURN or receive an email when new content is added using the "Follow by Email" button on the right side column. With more than 2,900 stories in this blog the custom search feature (right column) works best for finding subjects in the blog. There is also a translate button underneath the search button.

Stories for the Italian Cycling Journal about rides, granfondos, touring, having a good time cycling in Italy, Italian cycling history, racing, etc. are always welcome. Contact me at veronaman@gmail.com.
